NANOANAEMIA is a collaborative project between the Merkoçi at ICN2 (coordinator), UIC and Blood Genetics S.L.
The aim of this project is to develop a point of care diagnostic test for anaemia, a global public health concern that particularly affects young children and pregnant women. The World health Organisation (WHO) estimates that 42% of children under 5 years of age and 40% of pregnant women worldwide are anaemic. The rapid diagnosis of the type of anaemia will allow the treatment by the correct method.
In the NANOANAEMIA project we will design a point of care nanobiosensor for the detection and classification of Anaemia at home, with a device that can be linked to a smartphone.
